1/18 MINE'S R34 Demo Car

The Legendary MINE’S R34 GT-R aka “Hon-Demo” in 1/18 scale.

The MINE’S R34 Demo car, aka Hon-Demo, is one of the most talked-about GT-Rs of all time. In a Hot Version video episode released in 2002, Keiichi Tsuchiya famously quotes “the acceleration of the MINE’S GT-R will wake up my dead grandpa!”. For us at BBL, being part of the production crew of Best Motoring and Hot Version International editions back in the days, this car holds a special place in our hearts. In 2006, we took the very car to State side, shooting the episode later released as “Keiichi Tsuchiya and the MINE’S GT-R teams up for the course record in the USA!!”. The MINE’S R34 GT-R was shipped to the west coast to be driven at Willow Springs International Raceway, establishing the lap record during the video shoot. After serving as the benchmark GT-R for over 15 years, MINE’S took the car to Garage Yoshida for a complete restoration of this acclaimed Hon-Demo machine.

This model produced by Make Up under official license from Nissan Motor Company, is based on 3D data from an actual BNR34 GT-R, combined with 3D scanned data of the fully restored MINE’S R34 Demo Car aka Hon-Demo. Inheriting the MINE’S exterior aesthetics, the model looks almost stock at first glance. However, the front diffuser, canards, aero mirrors, rear wing, rear wing stay (which is 30mm higher than stock) and the trunk spoiler has all been replicated on this 1/18 scale  model. Even the dry carbon patterns have been replicated with a clear coat finish. The interior features Recaro bucket seats, Mine’s steering wheel and a carbon room mirror. Just like the fully restored and updated Hon-Demo car, the  model comes with the RAYS TE037 wheels scaled down to precision from the actual 18-inch size, combined with Bridgestone Potenza RE71RS tires.

The model comes with the carbon pattern platform and clear casing as seen in the product pictures, ready to be displayed out-of-the-box, which is one of the great things about the Make Up Modelcars.
