75% Weight Reduction, is only a product copy we ended up with as a result of developing the Built By Legends Dry Carbon Rod. It was the aethetics that drove us to develop this product. We just could not forgive ourselves to leave the dull stock hood prop made of steel in the fully restored engine bay of the BBL MINE’S GT-R. 3D scanned from the original hood prop, our DCR is an out-of-the-box replacement to the stock hood prop. Although the dry carbon texture was easy to imagine as an obvious aesthetic improvement, the development of the product involved numerous trials. Similarly shaped dry carbon products such as golf clubs and fishing rods are supposed to flex; our product needed to reduce that flexibility. Working with the master dry carbon manufacturer MISTRAL, who also develops and manufactures dry carbon parts for GT500 machines, we were able to develop our 100% dry carbon rod with the required rigidity and beauty. Each product is handcrafted and assigned with a serial number for authenticity. Serial #000 proudly sits in the engine bay of the MINE'S R34 GT-R demo car.
