Strut Tower Panel by Garage Yoshida

By design, the strut tower panel of the BCNR33 and BNR34 is prone to rust and corrosion. However, it is one of the most crucial part of the chassis as it directly receives input from the vehicle's suspension. When the stock replacement part went out of production, GT-R owners were left without a complete solution for repair. Determined to properly restore the GT-R, Garage Yoshida set out to develop an original strut tower panel. After a long search to find a partner/factory to develop the product, Yoshida finally found a factory with the right technology, craftsmanship and willingness to work on the project.

The strut tower panel was developed by taking precise measurements of the stock strut panel using a 3D scanner. However, Garage Yoshida's Strut Tower Panel is not an exact replication as it uses High Strength Steel, an alloy which was unavailable when the stock strut tower panel was originally developed. The updated material was essential to restore today's GT-Rs with increased power and performance.

Assembly of the multi-piece strut tower panel is done using high-powered spot welding machines and the nugget diameter of the weld surpasses the requirement per thickness of car manufacturers. Along with the increased number of welding spots, Garage Yoshida's Strut Tower Panel significantly increases the overall rigidity of the strut tower. There's also no compromise in assembly precision. The final product was evaluated against the 3D scan data of the original panel. The most crucial part of the panel, the area where the upper-arm is installed, is strictly controlled within a tolerance of 0.5mm. After assembly, all strut tower panels are cationic electrodeposition coated for anti-rust treatment.
